Welcome to GLF Jared Blair. Our Snagman, Chrispy, and or Castmaster should chime in soon.

Thanks for joining.

I know you'll have a blast with the smallies on erie.

Hey Jared...I have never fished around Kingsville but have fished Colchester many times....I go out to the mile marker and dropshot or drift with just a circle hook with a minnow and a few split shot....I always look for something different on the fish finder, holes, rocks, drop offs, weed beds, etc....I have also threw tubes around the helicopter pad and have hit some HUGE bass!!!

Go over to Wally's baits and get his new goby plastics, I would use those on a drop shot rig and I can pretty much guarantee you will catch bass.....

I am sure that SNAGMAN has fished the area and will help ya out too....

Hey Jared

when you go out of Cedar Island just head West for 3/4 miles the rock structure starts there & goes all the way to the mouth of the Detroit River. There are 2 sets of rocks the inner set goes out to about 14' and the outside set starts around 20 - 23'. All I ever use are 4" salt tubes and work the rocks the big secret is learning the difference between a bite and the bottom unless they are on the bite ans smashing your bait.
If you want to fish East the rock structure starts 1/2 mile east of Kingsville Harbour and runs all the way to Bells Point about 3/4 miles from Leamington Harbor and it's the same there 2 sets of rock just don't be fishing the beds before season the guys here won't stand for that specially me. I've fished this area for 55 yrs and figure I've caught most of our Smallies at least once hehe!! You only need 3 colors of Venom Tubes here Watermelon Purple, Road Kill & the Custom which only I have.

Good Fishin
