Title: DR 5/10/08 Post by: Zib on May 10, 2008, 05:55:31 pm Me & SheepHeadHunter launched out of Ecorse this morning & fished in front of US Steel from 7:00AM until 12:30. We used Sheepheadhunter's uncle's boat. It's a '93 or '94 Princecraft, 14'6" with a 25HP Johnson. The boat hadn't been in the water in a few years so we were testing it out. The original plan was to take it on a small inland lake just to be safe but after using my boat out on the river last year we said "what the hell". ;D
I had my limit of walleye at 8:30AM but Todd struggled a bit in the walleye category. He had no problem slaying the rock bass though. ;D We caught so many smallmouth that I lost count somewhere around 20 or so. We also caught a good dozen white bass. Most fish were caught in 30 to 40 fow. My hot bait was a 1/2oz green jig with a Fin-S minnow in smelt & Todd had various contraptions rigged on a 3/4oz jigs. SheepHeadHunter got another skunk on the sheephead. I think he needs to change his name to the Rockbass Slayer. ;D (http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j67/zibjones/IMG_1055.jpg) (http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j67/zibjones/IMG_1056.jpg) BTW, I seen Derek (Castmaster) out there & I think I seen Wally Ranger & Canuck drive by.
