Sir Castalot was going to post and also sent me this by email.  Since he hasn't posted it, I am going to take the liberty and just copy and paste the whole email.

This Sturgeon was caught on the Black River at South Haven, Michigan last week. ?  It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and measured out at 11'1". It was 56" around the girth and took over 6 and a half hours and 4 dozen beers for the 4 guys taking turns reeling.

** I could not find any info in the local papers so I am not sure if this is real or local. But the picture itself is quiet impresive.    It is not uncommon for these fish to grow large due to their long lifespanm but man, this one must have been alive waaaaay before all of us.

Not here too. This has been all over the internet for a few years and recently has made a resurgence. The michigan record for sturgeon is 192 lbs. This specimen was caught out west and I believe was in the Snake river of Idaho. It`s been posted as being caught in the Detroit river, StClair river and South Haven as well. Indeed it is a monster.

Figures this one was one of those neverending stories... Sorta like a picture of that guy with a giant pike, know what I'm talking about?

That fish was caught over 2 years ago in the Frasier River in British Columbia. It's a White Sturgeon, which doesn't exist in the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes has Lake Sturgeon.

The Pike one has been around forever.  Michigan Sturgeon get to maybe 200 lbs.
You sure have to respect the Sturgeon that fish is pre-historic.

Look in my gallery I got nice sturgeon from St. Clair.   64" unknown weight but some estimate it from 70-80lbs.  Believe it or not that was the first fish I caught on St Clair.
