Well, the day almost began with disaster. Going down M-59, a guy pulled up to us and told us our bearings were going. We pulled off, and found the tired smoking. Luckily, my buddy Louie keeps every tool known to man in his van. Anyway, it turned out that one of the break shoes got loose in the break drum and was causing the trouble. After 1/2 hour we were on the road again. We met my friend Jamal at Crocker and launched. I met muskiehound at the launch, and he told me the fishing wasn't too hot. He was dead wrong. We hit the mile roads and immediately started catching fish on jerkbaits and rattle traps. Louie and I were doing quite well, but Jamal was struggling. We had about 30 fish in the boat and a cloud moved in. It completely shut off the bite for 2 hours. This one cloud would not move, and while it was there the fish would not bite. As soon as it moved, the action was furious. Almost all the fish came one jerkbaits today, with about 20 coming on rattle traps. We fished 4-9FOW with most fish coming in 6-8FOW. Now, for the good part. I caught the biggest 2 smallies of my life. first I caught a 5lb. 7oz (new personal best) and was on top of the world. I was about to tell them that the day couldn't get any better when I got a hit. It ended up being a 6lb. 1oz fish!! MONSTER!!! My best 5 fish went 4lbs. 11oz, 4lbs. 13oz, 4lbs. 15oz, 5lbs. 7oz and 6lbs 1 oz. If oyu do the math, that comes to 25lbs. 5oz!! HUGE!! Total, we boated 131 bass today between 12:15-8:15. This has to be the greatest day of my life. Here are a ton of pictures.

Most fishermen sit at home in the winter, thinking about fishing.  Real fishermen go out and do it.
