Kent Lake Report 5/18/08
« on: May 18, 2008, 02:23:40 pm »

It's a good thing I didn't listen to the weatherman else I wouldn't have caught fish today. Can those idiots ever get it right? They have million dollar systems & still can't come close to predicting the weather.

Me & Rob fished Kent Lake from 7:00 AM to 11:45 AM. The fish we caught were nothing to brag about but considering the cold front me managed to boat 2 dozen bass (mostly LM & some SM) & a crappie. We had 4 or 5 doubles on, which for Kent Lk is good. Top baits were 4" grubs in green pumpkin & a perch jerkbait. The Mepps Agila was outfished by the Blue Fox Vibrax.  Grin

Here's one of the doubles & the size of most of the fish caught.

Nice going Zib. You put your skills to it's test and wound up with a nice day.

It sure beats not fishing.  But, with gas prices you may want to consider fishing for a longer period of time!!

Most fishermen sit at home in the winter, thinking about fishing.  Real fishermen go out and do it.

I had things to do at home else I would have stayed longer.

The total gas used between my truck & boat was about 4 1/2 gallons at the most. That's trip #7 on the new boat motor & there's still gas in the original fill-up in the 6 gallon tank. Smiley I will need to fill up before I head out again. Once I start fishing the main lk of SC I'll be carrying extra gas with me.
