not last thursday but the one b4 i was fishing for fresh water drum and i was using a chunk of cut up Gobi. my favorite bait.... the water temp had dropped and things were super slow. all of a sudden the ground line took off and i saw a fish jumping. after a long struggle i netted a 28" female chromer. it was a great suprize. i didnt have a scale so i dont know its weight but it was great. i think i might try using gobi this fall tho.

It's a steelhead or rainbow trout....and I am not too sure about American fishing regs but over here in Canada using gobies is illegal....make sure you check out the regs....
And CONGRATS on the rainbow!!!

i was not transporting the gobi in or out of the lake, i just caught them off the peir or used ones that others had thrown up on the peir and i cut it up and used it as bait. i'm not so sure but i think that is completely legal, they r trying to control their population anyways and i have been checked out there by the dnr many times while fishing at night for catfish with gobi and they have never mentioned it.

Just as long as they are dead you can use them as bait.
