a video on Pike would be great, I watched one last year, cleaned a few this winter and spring, think I am doing a decent job, but would like to know for sure.  I get 3 fillets off them, but my uncle said your supposed to get 5?

Here's a good "How To"

Ever try this age-old jar trick? Fill a gallon glass jar with water and put a lid with holes punched in it on the jar. Tie the neck of the jar with a strong piece of string. Put 6 to 12 minnows in the jar, and lower it to the depth at which you've previously caught crappie.
Crappie will spot the minnows in the jar, but not the glass - so they'll attack the jar. Put live minnows on hooks down right beside the jar, and the crappie will take the bait.

Tie them to your line, and drift or troll SLOWLY.  When rigging the worm, attache the butt end, the real thick end, to the first hook, and leave plenty of worm trailing behind to entice the fish.

Most fishermen sit at home in the winter, thinking about fishing.  Real fishermen go out and do it.

Heres a little tip I came across for those who like to make their own brines for preserving fish for smoking or what have you.

Many might know this already but to start your brine, you put a potato into the amount of water you want to use for your brine. Then you add your salt (curing salt)till the potato floats, a perfect water/salt brine. Then you can add any spices, brown sugar what ever your heart desires.

Where I use to live the local natives use to have what was called 'Indian Candy' it was merely a mixture of water, salt and brown sugar, made incredible smoked salmon.
