Going to Fletcher's Pond
Average user rating    (0 vote)
Views 696

I am taking my 14yo to Fletcher's Flooding the second week in June.  We will be camped on the West side of the lake (near the sunken railroad bridge) and fishing out of a 10ft Jon boat with 2HP Honda.

Any tips or sugestions would be greaqtly appreciated.  We are primarily interested in catch-n-go Pike and Large Mouth with a few gills and one or two medium-sized pike for our meals.

I have bought a few Daredevle spoons and some Bomber slab spoons for the Pike as I've never gone looking specifically for Pike in the past....also have a wide assortment of Rappala's and jigs with rubber grubs and worms, as well as small spin cast baits for gills and crappie.

1. Fletcher Info.......
Its been awhile but I have many trips under my belt when its concerning Fletchers Pond. The Pike fishing can be successful with the mepps spinner buck tail. When using spoons dont forget a color that was very good for us.....yellow with red diamonds. Something else to remember: when cranking lures in remember to crank all the way in to the boat. I cant tell you how many Pike we caught were right by the boat. Dont give up on ANY cast.

Large black and gold rapalas were good in cloud cover, aqua and silver when the sun is out. We also used what they called a Creek chub mouse....gray and also red/white.

I plan to take a trip back to Jacks Landing next spring. Please email me about how well you did. Remember you got to go where they are and that means going thru some stump areas. Good Luck fishing!!!!

Small dardevil spoons will work for pike on Fletcher's but you must remember to retrieve the spoon immedietely so as not to get hung up on the many snags you will find if you were to let it sink. My favorite method of fishing on the pond is to drift with the wind casting towards the area you are drifting towards. Bass size mepps spinners in red and chartreuse are deadly on pike here.
