Hello Great Lakes Forum folks...

My internet name is SNAGMAN and my fishing pardner and galfriend is Bassette, we are Independent Field Testers for the Angling Sports Industry. We have been doing this since 1998 and found Lake St Clair and Detroit River to be an awesome lake to do a lot of our testing. We are on Pro-Staff and Field Teams with companies in Canada and in the USA.

We look forward to some interesting posts and with jawing with everyone!

Where are you located at in Canada?  You have an awesome job.  I hope to get some fishing reports from the Candian side this year, as I fish there almost every weekend.

IFMMark  Ooops my bad....Bassette and I reside on the borderline of Windsor & Tecumseh and are about five minutes from City Marina at Peche Island and Lake St Clair. We spend alot of our test time in the Redevouz Area of St Clair and up at St Lukes/Mitchells Bay Area.
We test musky lures-northern pike lures and a whole lot of bass lures...the past three years we have been testing scents/attractants and thats really been interesting.

If you have any questions I hope we may be able to answer them.

I have a question for ya.  What lures have worked best for you on the Belle River Hump?

IFMMark....Thats a great question and I will answer that by saying I have 3 Techniques out at Belle River Hump...The Tube drifting & dragging is one, A Canadian Wiggler with rattles Blue/Chartruese cranking lure is one and my best and most productive is Drop Shotting a small plastics worm. Robo Worm..BearPawHandPouredBaits Worm are the two best I have found for drop shotting technique.

I forgot that drop-shotting is legal in Canada.  I've never done it, so I just might try it.  Inform me on anything that you try and like.  There's no better evidence than that from the field.

Oh Yea I forgot drop shot is illegal in Michigan..comes from the old days of snagging rigs I think...Well  Drop Shotting is an awesome technique and I'll say this when a fish hits that rig ya don't have to worry about snagging...cause they gobble it up!
True Story: I thought hey instead of using a weight on the bottom, why not rig a tubejig and tube, then go 15-18inches up line and place my worm..figure if a bass is on the bottom it'll take the tube or if they are suspended they take the worm..I no more dropped the rig over the side of the boat and wham a bass takes the tube as I was fighting it up from the bottom it swam up and ate the worm...man what a tangled mess once I boated the bugger!

Do you fish in front of the water tower?  That's where I usually guess where the hump is.  Am I at least close?  And do you do any tournament fishing?

You are very close and also depending on how far out you go.If you have a GPS I will give you a waypoint that will put you on top of the hump. That way you will know for sure!

I used to fish Open Tournaments in Ohio and Kentucky along with two bassmaster clubs in Ohio and Fished the SWOBA and the Essex County Bass Anglers here in Windsor...Field Testing takes up a lot of time so for two years have refrained from competeing.

you can send the GPS points this way any time.  I just bought one, and still haven't figured out how to use it.  It will be nice to have a place to start.  Thank you very much.
