Well 4 day's of practise and I landed my first eye at the sturgeon hole. Before Sunday I had never handlined before. I'm still learning but man was it great. It grabbed my line just as the heavy rain started to come down. Man did I get wet! I was just about to pack it in because I looked behind me and saw the rain coming. Fish caught on #5 clown 40 feet back top lead. Had no scale but she was a fatty! Musta been 8lbs plus. Gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and released her.  Shouldn't be long now before the action gets steady. The surface temp yesterday was ony 32. Today 36. With all this warm rain and some sunshine in the forcast for next week...I AM PUMPED TO LIMIT OUT!!!   
Forgot to mention that I was dragging a 5gal. pail to slow the boat right down.

Way to go Brother!!!!  Never tried hand lining myself but would love to check it out sometime....seems they are the only ones catching fish when the water is dirty....again way to go and for letting the big girl go to make babies!!!!
