Fishing Monday
« on: September 04, 2007, 10:02:21 am »

Went out with the wife on Monday....nice day out when we left....the wind picked up as I was showing the wife the Canadian side of the river.....took her all the way down to the bridge, she had never been down that far.....at one point we were in 3-4' swells.....no problem, was fun for me, not so much for her....LOL!!!

After the 2 hour tour ( all I can think of is the Gilligan Island song now!!!  LOL!!!) we fished the sturgeon hole.....took one drift and only picked up a sheephead....

You all would have been proud of me.....one shot with the trailer!!!!!  I wish I could be more consistent backing up that darn thing!!!!  LOL!!!

I have a question....what is with the dudes in the cruisers???  Every single one of them yesterday passed me going 90 miles and hour while I was fishing....they were close enough for me to throw a 12" Woodie at them and hit them between the eyes....what is with these people???  I couldn't care less if they passed me going mach 1 if they kept their distance but a couple times they were so close I could count the pimples on their girlfriends booty!!!  Someone is going to get hurt out there!!!!

If I have the opportunity to cast a lure full of hooks at those inconsiderate people then I do it. I've hit many boats on the inland lakes.

I make it a point to cast at people who get too close and/or at high speed.  St Clair is the "busiest" lake in the world. Period. So Ass-&*^ come with the territory i suppose.

Some arabs few years back didn't like having their boat hit by a lure after they almost capsized my boat. Came back, started yelling. I said hey, i don;t know what you guys do in saudi arabia, but this lake has a speed limit.  Guy driving the boat said: what speed limit? Its water...  Shows the ignorance of your average boater on lsc  disgust

Never cast a lure at a person no matter what. Think about how wrong that is. If you try to injure someone your no better than the cruiser. Think about if you take out a poor childs eye or a innocent person gets it. Wake up and realize that is not right.

ROAD RAGE...LAKE-RIVER RAGE theres inconsiderate careless reckless idiots on both places. Everyone seems to think its all about them when they get behind the wheel of a auto or boat. Everyone seems to think they gotta be somewhere right now and fast.

NO winging lures or objects at boaters does not solve the problem (JetSkis Excluded lol j/k)!

You also got to look at where you have your boat at the time, for example on the Canadian Side of St Clair if your fishing the Sturgeon Hole or in that general area, your right outside of the no wake zone and past the bouy that allow you to come up on plane. At times this area can be a free for all with boat traffic and its All Ahead Full Steam. Same goes for over on the USA side by the SchoolHouse in the river, its wide open until you get down by the RoosterTail same conditions.

So us ones who is in the itty bitty boats gotta be thinking ahead as to where we really want to be and what conditions we are willing to deal with while out on the water. I do know that on the Canadian Side if you get a boat number and a real on the water infraction occurs and turn it over to the authorities or call it in, the jerks will get a visit by their local law enforcers. Been there done that and it does feel good!!!!

So fellas just think out your day on the water, stay calm and enjoy your trip and always be considerate of others

Anglers have to respect the shipping channels also guys! That is meant to be a passage for boats to cruise through. Many times I'v had fisherman shut down right in front of me in the middle of the channel while I'm on plane in my Doral. Sorry guy's, but if they do that I tend not to move over too much to go around them. Any boat on plane has right of way in the shipping channel as opposed to somebody stopped dead in the middle. Just asking for problems on this lake in my opinion.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
