H2o HELP!
« on: January 03, 2008, 01:04:18 pm »

Hey Buddy!!!  I am going to go on a fly in with my Dad in the spring....the place I am going has Master Angler walleye, Master Angler pike and master Angler lake trout, OH MY!!!!

I need some of your expertise with Mepps....what sizes should I be looking for??  Any colours you prefer for stained and clear water???  I will be looking for some at the show so if you sniff some out on Thursday let me know who has them and I will go and get them on Friday when I go to the show....thanks!!!!

# 2-3-5's Aglias will get the job done. Silver+Rainbow will be all you need. Toothy critters require a steel leader.

Light line for 2+3's 4lb. Crystal FireLine and 8-10 lb. for the 5's.
Talk to KD's Ken and he can get you all you want.  Let me know and I'll tell him to have them there for you. How many do you want?

Not too sure as too how many???

I am using a heavy rod (these pike go over 40") and a Okuma VS baitcaster reel with 40# braid....I can make lighter leaders with 20# fluorocarbon but I think I might get a few titanium leaders for these pigs...I guess these pike are as big as our St. Clair musky....WOW!!!!!

You should take 10 # 5's with ya. If that's OK I'll tell ken to take them to the show.  about 35.00 or less.

Chrispy, I would take some bright colours with nickle blades for clear or tea stained water and dark clours and polished brass blades for murkier waters
