Ok, I got the gf taking me out tonight before the Kinghts game (GO KNIGHTS GO!!!) to pick out something for the boat.....what do you guys think is more important....a fish finder...or marine radio....I can only get one '> ....my main question is can you use a cb radio on the water....would it be sufficent to call for help or do I have to go VHF?

My vote goes out for the fishfinder. In termsof VHF its nice and all, but entirely unnecessary on LSC and many other places. I am speaking mostly about the american side, but I have full digital service, Verizon, anywhere on the lake. It gets a little choppy by seaway island, but otherwise works like a charm. I have radar, forecasts, and pretty much everything on my cell. A good fishfinder is more important, as it is also a depth reader. I am assumin you have a GPS already, right? because if you don't, thats more important than anything.

Most fishermen sit at home in the winter, thinking about fishing. Real fishermen go out and do it.
