Nice going. The DNR said the conditions are right for a successful spawn this year. I hope that with all the egg filled females that I've seen & heard of guys keeping that it doesn't hurt too much.

Most fishermen sit at home in the winter, thinking about fishing. Real fishermen go out and do it.

I've seen guys at the docks & on the river putting females full of eggs into their live wells or coolers. I also saw plenty of pictures of guys with them in posts on various sites. They have every right to keep them but it's sad to see that happen.

How can they have a right to keep them if there out of season? They can't.

Makes sence. With all the years of eye fishing going on and the millions of fish I can't see any harm being done.
Think about the commercial fisherman.

Actually the commercial fisherman limits have be reduced for this year in Lake Erie because of the declining walleye population. I've read & been told that in a few years the SCR will have a better spring run for walleyes (with relation to size) than the DR. Lake Erie's population has been on the decline due to the poor spawning & over harvest in the last 10 years (except 2003).
