Went out on the maiden voyage in the morning on Saturday.....wanted to test out the motor and make sure everything was running right so I went out of Ranta to get away from the crowds.....started out and got out into the open water and let her go to get out all of the fogging stuff in the motor....she stood right up and was on plane in a few seconds and was doing 35 miles per hour with 3 guys in the boat and not one of them under 220 pounds!!!! Not bad at all.....

Went to our first spot, there was a couple of boats there.....picked up a couple nice perch, really slow though.....checked a couple other spots and same thing.....spoke with a few of the old timers fishing and they weren't getting anything either.....moved around a lot!!! picked up a few here and there, nothing to write home about.....went into one of the bays and got a HUGE crappy, biggest one I have ever caught, was the size of a supper plate.....tooled around some more with the electric trying to find more slab crappies and the fuse blew on the electric.....decided to leave the bay and then found an opening to another bay Woodwacker told me about.....went into there with my trolling motor, was about 2' deep or so and then it opens up into a beautiful mile long bay that inside of an island.....it was amazing in there.....checked out a few spots in there but were only catching bass so we kept moving to try to find some gills or crappy but all we would get were small bass.....while we were checking out one spot I looked up and there was a deer feeding about 20 feet from us on the island....I was really quite and got out the camera, took a bunch of pics and then started making noise, the deer just looked up at us and kept eating.....wasn't afraid at all.....pretty cool.....got out of the small bay and decided to start trolling back with harnesses and my kicker wouldn't start, took off the shroud and the flywheel that comes up when you pull the cord came right up over the starter.....MAN!!! So we trolled back for awhile with the big motor.....we didn't end up with any hits.....

All in all it was a great day other than the couple of small problems I had with the boat.....it was totally relaxing and we were killing ourself laughing at each other and making fun of the one guy that didn't catch anything!!! LOL!!!

Can't wait to get out next weekend on Sunday!!!!
