Was down by the bridge today....this weekends North winds have really screwed up the river....will be four or five days till it clears once again......on an up note....within the muddy water...I saw a huge cloud of baitfish move into the grain elevator area.....im sure fishing will be awesome once the water clears up a bit.

That's why you should take take up turkey hunting. Instead of fishing in the mud you walk in it instead.

I was also down at the city marina today and I was hoping to to cast the docks for some pike but seeing as the water was chocolate milk and it was poaring rain i headed home.

Why do people run from mud? I catch some great fish out of muddy water. I like the fact that it hides me.

Most fishermen sit at home in the winter, thinking about fishing. Real fishermen go out and do it.

IFMMark.....I would tend to agree with you, if I was still fishing the reservoirs down south, for there ya definately gotta appreciate fishing slop and mud, especially flippin them jig&pigs...but since being up here fishing the clear lake waters..Ya get spoiled and it does affect the fishing to a some degree. Plus age has some advantage to it like being young your oblivious to the dampness & cold...as for me it really really slows me down so I pick and choose my days on the water now.

I have a boat there so they really only tolerate me fishing there. Its illegal but I've had the boat for 10 years or so in there so I've become pals with the employees....not to discourage you but they'll just toss you out. But I do catch bass and pike inside the marina all summer. Pike hit just about anything you toss at them but the bass are really picky. It seems every hour a different presentation works.
