My trout fishing trip last week
« on: May 06, 2005, 06:05:50 pm »

Somewhere in North America I went trout fishing last week. OK, OK…..it was in Ontario…alright….somewhere on Georgian Bay….well part of it anyway. OK, here’s the deal. People will kill me if I give an exact location.
On my way up I stopped at BPS. I will be honest and say I was disappointed in the size, prices and selection of the 1st Canadian store.
I hooked up with friend Blanie in Huntsville. Spent the next four days trout fishing and it was some of the best trout fishing I’ve ever had.
On day 1 and 2 Blaine and myself fished together. Here’s a pic of Blaine and a fish he landed.

Here’s one of the bigger trout I was fortunate to land.

On day 3 our friend Dan from Barrie fished with us. Not only was he landing some good trout he also landed a lake trout. That will tell you the surface water was still very cold.

On the 4th day my friend Mike from Huntsville fished with us. It was his 1st time using fluorocarbon leader line. I can tell you he’s now a believer. Here’s a pic of a large trout he landed using fluro.

Here’s Mike and me with a colorful trout

Blaine and Mike

I landed this poor fish and there were a few other like him in worse shape. I was told the cuts were from commorants(spelling) and a few of them were around. But Some of the marks looked like musky to me.

I’ll tell you something else, I usually see lots of wildlife when I’m up there and in fact I did see a bear but this…..I didn’t expect. It was not yet light and I heard this grunting and I thought to myself “$$it it must be a bear” and out of the darkness and into the headlights strolls this thing. After I gave him a sandwich he waddled back into the darkness.

Hey Snagman how are ya? Hope everything went well on your roadtrip.

I really don't know what that pig was doing there. I'm sure he belongs to someone nearby. But where I don't know.
