Beermaster
Granddaughter (5 years old) and I had a nice hour on the water this afternoon.
Only spent an hour as there was alittle wind and 6 inch waves so we stayed just out side of the marina entrance in calm water.
Did not want her to get scared.
We drifted along the outside of the marina rock wall hoping to hook into a flounder, rockfish, or seabass but nothing hit the bait.
A group of U.S. Coast Guard men were on the dock and Alexis got to visit with them for a few minutes. They were telling her how cool her new life vest was.
She got to drive and stear the boat for about 5 minutes.
At one point we started to drift by an old sail boat as seen in one of the pictures. She had been asking about sharks, big whales, this and that so I thought we'd have alittle fun.
I told her that was a pirate ship and we needed to be quiet as we drifted past it. We did not want to wake them up as they might come after our boat. The look on her face was priceless, wish I had my camara ready.
She really is excited about catching a fish so I told her we would give it another try on another day.
I told her maybe when her Daddy comes up.
I just can't wait to see her excitment when she feels a fish on the line, and reals it in.
Going to have her and her baby sister another 3 weeks.
Brought back all the good old times of taking my kids fishing.
Sure hope they remember them times.
