Here it is in a nutshell. Please refrain from politics, religion, jokes, ect. This is a outdoor recreation forum. Posting anything like that will only lead to conflicts, hurt feelings, and member disagreements. Thus defeating our purpose. I for one don't want to police this kind of stuff. When I click on a post I want to learn about the outdoors not garbage. This forum is designed to teach and learn. Our purpose is to make this as enjoyable as possible. So in your post try and be as informable as possible. I know we all will be better off with this agenda.
We will have a special forum for that stuff soon.

Greg, although I wholeheartedly agree with keeping politics and religion out of fishing, we also have members who treat this site as a community, I.E. friendly discussion about other stuff. What we should do perhaps, is create a forum such as the boathouse on lscn or whatever it is called. All non outdoor related discussion will go there. It will be a separate button up on top. Perhaps we should call it the outhouse... That way people who come here purely for fishing info will not even have to be subjected to unrelated discussion. What do you guys think we should do? You as members get to make this call, or perhaps come up with other ideas.
Please let us know in this thread.

It's impossible to keep politics out of any discussion. The discussion of fishing license fees is a political as it gets when it comes to fishing. All the other fishing/hunting forums that I belong to, they ALL have a section for miscellaneous topics such as politics, jokes, rants, classifieds, etc. This is done so the people that don't want to read that stuff can avoid that particular forum section.

I vote for the outhouse. Zib about the fees for Hunting and Fishing just think of the DNR as the police as that is what they are somewhat. I just don't like to read all this crap about this party and that party. I guide and as a guide Religion and Politics are No-Nos. If either subject comes up in our convesations I change the subject at once. We get enough crap during a campaign to last a lifetime.

I vote for an outhouse. The way I view it is the 2 "political" jokes that were posted were just that, jokes, and not meant to stir the pot. I could live with them here, as long as no one goes beyond posting the joke and laughing at it, but I also don't want people leaving the site.

Most fishermen sit at home in the winter, thinking about fishing. Real fishermen go out and do it.
