Fun on ATV's
« on: October 22, 2005, 05:50:28 pm »

I'm by no means an ATV expert, but I love riding em, so when my friend asked me to go riding with him yesterday I couldn't refuse.  He lives close to some nice trails and fields, so we rode over there, and did some nice riding through the woods, through ditches, and blazing our own trails.  When he asked if I wanted to go to another spot, I said sure, not realizing how far it was.  We drove through the woods for about a mile, and then pulled out on to a public road.  I wasn't too happy about this, because I didn't want to get a ticket but I rode on anyways.  We rode for about a mile and pulled onto another street, and went to his new spot.  It was a dried up swamp which was awesome.  The sides were real steep, which made fun riding, and the middle was great for doughnuts.  We ended up riding for about 2 hours before going home.  It was a great time.  Yes, I wore a helmet, and nothing bad happened.  The beautiful thing is, we only used a drop of gas during our 2 hours of riding.  I could get into this ATV stuff.

ATV's are a real blast.
My wife and I usually look for ATV tours when we take our vacations.
Once you've done it, you always want to do it again.
Glad you had fun.

Went again today, for 4 hours!  What a long time to ride for.  We had engine trouble with mine for the first hour, but we finally got it goin, and rode strong for the next 3 hours.  What a difference 2 days makes.  All of the leaves were yellow and orange, and it was awesome.  Another great day to ride.

Lost of fun everytime.
Except my wife only likes the automatic ATV's.
She hates shifting.
I guess I like the automatics myself. But, will ride either. ':appl:'

I've only been on manuals, but I don't think I'd like the automatics.  The manual allows for an easier time gettin up hills, and just adds an element to the whole feeling of riding.

I don't trust myself with a camera when I'm on an ATV.  I'm afraid it will fall out, or I'll fall off and break it.

I guess you have to grow up around the lakes to be confident on the ice.

I might step out on the ice this year to see how it feels.

Just remember ICE floats, and when your out there and hear the sonic crackkkkk, that's a good sign it shows the lake is making ice. When it gets dense something has to give and that's the cracking sound.

h2o<--just stay off deep rivers me thinks.

An ATV is nothing.  I've seen people take winnebagoes out on the ice.  Although I don't think I would ever do th ':boat:'
