Since Kentucky Lake is in my territory for work and I love to fish down there, I am going to include it in the Indiana section. It's a World famous fishery, and if any of you ever get close, you should stop and wet a line.
Crappie fishing has really started. Fishing has been good on both lakes. The crappie seem to be scattered yet but are moving shallow. The water temps have gotten into the mid fifties. Some good white crappie have been taken vertical jigging Mister Twister Lighting Bugs. Good sized black crappie are being caught around brush in 4' to 5' of water.
Largemouths are being caught on spinner baits and small crank baits along the gravel points inside the bays.
Bluegill and whitebass have been slow.
There is not much activity in the tail waters. The rivers are high and swift.
Catfishing is fair along the old creek channels that feed into the old rivers. Bottom bouncing with cut bait has been working best.
TIP: The water is warming fast. Don't wait too long to go crappie fishing.
