new jiggin rod
« on: April 13, 2008, 02:52:57 pm »

well I just got back from BPS went looking for a new jiggin rod and bought the walleye angler series in a 5'9" medium action. They were 20 bucks off plus I had a 10 dollar birthday coupon so the price was right $42.88 out the door. I wanted a shorter rod and had a hard time finding a spinning rod in medium action under 6' so this was the ticket. Can't wait to test it out on the river.

I also went to BPS today.  Bought a new reel with birthday money from my grandmas and my mom bought me a few things I don't need Cheesy  I'm ready now.  Less than 2 weeks until C&R opens up.

Lerxst nice job on that stick, may it serve you well. Lets us know what fish you catch on it first.

Abu Garcia Cardinal.  $35, and it's a great reel.  I already have two others and absolutely love them.  It spools the line correctly (unlike most low-end spinning reels).  And it's smooth as butter.  With baitcasters, sometimes the higher end models are better, but I can't see dropping too much money on a spinning reel.
