Erie Fishi`n

Fished Lake Erie today with my brother in law starting at 8:15 and wraping it up at 1:30. Launched out of Sterling and started fishing 25 feet of 70 degree water about 2 1/2 miles s.e of Stoney Point. Not drawing any takers and not many marks we headed off the Fermi plant in 20 fow pulling rainbow trout, (wonderbread) harnesses and 2 oz bottom bouncers with a Gulp crawler. Water temp was 68 and we were able to pull 4 eyes from that area running 18 1/2 to 20 inches. Weeds were coming in patches but we were able to troll with out much trouble. Not many nets being dipped by others in the area and with action slowed and the wind being in a doldrum we shot off to the humps off Pt Moullie. There we proceed to cast Erie Dearies and were able to land a nice 22 inch wally and we also lost another 2 near the boat. A dink smallie and a few rockies came to the boat as well. The weather was fabulous and the company was great too. Took home the one limit of wallys. Bro in law got the most walleyes, (3) and I got 2, including the 22 incher and the smallie and 3 rockies. We finished up trolling tots in Brest Bay with no marks or hits at all. A fun day to be sure now it`s back to the ole grind.

Towing the boat with the Big Horn to either StClair or Erie costs me $50 and I throw in another $30 in the Czarbarge gas tank  for $80 a trip. I pick my days when the weather is ideal. And this year there`s been alot of foul weather. In 2 weeks I leave for my east coast trip out of Glouchester, Mass on a 3 day ocean going trip. Can`t wait.
