Me & SheepHeadHunter hit the bay this morning in search of musky. Fished from 6:15 AM until 1:30 PM. Lots of floating weeds & bugs galore. The water was a little cloudy in some areas.

We boated 19 fish total. 95% of the cast made were with musky baits. Most were LM caught by the Salt R & some rockies that were slayed by SheepHeadHunter.    I managed to land a 24" pike within the first few casts over by Grassy. The bugs were unbearable by Grassy so we headed back towards Selfridge. I was surprised at all of the flying ants that were by Grassy. Toughs bastards bite hard. 

The only musky action was a follow & one hit about 25 feet from the boat.

Found that floating so I decided to clean up the lake.

I can't believe that we didn't catch any smallies. That's a first for me on St. Clair.

BTW, we also ran into AlexG & his wife out on the lake as well back at the ramp.

The wife & kids are still up in Houghton Lake & probably will be up there until the end of the month (I hope ).

In the mean time I need to take my battery back to BatteryMan before my next trip. I hope he's back from vacation this week. I also need to install the new depth finder. The honey do list can wait.

What's up with the battery?

I bought the battery back in March. Ever since it didn't hold a charge that long. On the river it would go 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Now it won't last an hour & it won't fully charge. Most likely a bad cell.
 

Is your charger automatic? And how old is it?

Have you trickled the sucker for a week or so at like 2 Amps?

Yes it's automatic. 3 months old.
