Hit the mile roads satuday. Water was anywhere from chocolate milk to stained to clear.  Ended up with us catching around 12 fish.  1 pike, 4 rock bass and the rest were SM bass.  Caught most of the fish trolling.  I had 1 muskie follow to the boat got it to turn around once then it was gone.  Thats about the normal action I have for muskie this year. They always follow and I never get a hit or a fight out of them.  Its been a crappy muskie season so far for me this year.

I hear ya on the musky season. I was about to give up until I had that one on Friday. Hopefully the water clears up before next weekend.

Water was nice about a 1/2 mile  to a mile out of the mile roads south of metro when i was out thursday. All chocloate milk was closer to shore. I managed some smalles as well before developing engine trouble.  Engine shaft coupler went. Assuming it's due to a collapsed mount causing mis-alignment 5 minute fix, but the engine and drive has to come out. Bummer. 250 for the part (quoted up to 500 from local dealers) and 300-400 for labor.

Alex, patience young jedi. Remember they USED to call the musky the fish of a thousand casts or hours,I'm not sure.I do know of your determination and I believe you will get into the Big Girls soon enough.In the mean time, enjoy the smaller fish or ...the day if you get skunkied.

Actually the musky was the fish of 10,000 casts. For St. Clair it's about 5,000 for me.
