Casting by 7:30 out of Port Selfridge. Usual routine. Second cast Czar wins 2$'s on a chunk SM. We went on to catching 13 fish. SM mostly,Pike, walleye, and a mystery fish. Water temp stable 66, Area of casting Bouvier Bay. Just a blast with my Son Adam and Brother Czar. He had to be a good boy as I had my son and he was a perfect Captain almost. lol He'll add his 1 cent and some neat pictures. Biggest SM 21 4lbs 13 oz.
Big surprise was apox. 60 inch Sturgeon went airborne 2 feet from the boat while drifting and scared the stuff out of us. Splash got us wet. Totally awesome.

Sent a lamprey to neptune off a pike. Nice day and had the area almost to ourselfs. Lost a few to.

What is the Mystery Fish?

Call me crazy but it looks like some hybrid version of white bass. Looking into it further. We should submit the pic to dnr...

In fact, it looks like a perfect hybrid between a rudd and a white bass... what do you think?>

Nice job guys.  Cool

The mystery fish is a white perch. Might also be a cross between a white bass & a white perch, which is called a wiper or something like that.

Pretty close call on that white perch zib. But I'll give it to you. Maybe he had a sore anus due to Greg's rough handling which made the fin red as well Smiley

Just a great time guiding my nephew to some nice fish. We had a blast and that sturgeon came otta nowhere. I let Adam drive the boat and he loved the hole shot.  He got his first walleye and Greg lost another dandy `eye as well. Greg was well behaved but he had to be. His son was there and it was killing him.  Gotta bring witnesses so he keeps the whining to a minimum.  Great weather, great company and an all around good time. We`ll do it again soon.
