Spring Fishing
Spring is fast approaching and soon winter will be at it's end. The boats will be back in the water and we'll be back to doing what we love best. Fishing! Fishresource.com is celebrating it's seventh successful year online and once again we'd like to thank each and every one of our visitors, especially for the contributions, photos and tips, etc., that we received. We look forward to another good year of fishing and being online.
Late in the winter season and early in the spring, water conditions can be very dangerous. The ice on the lakes, rivers and wetlands is thinner and less stable, and water levels of rivers and streams are higher with faster currents. Please take extra caution and always keep safety in mind when enjoying the outdoors.
Freshwater Fishing
Fishresource.com was created in 2001 to be a complete freshwater angling reference for both novices and experts alike. It was also created to take the mystery out of fishing for beginners and provides a beautifully illustrated and complete reference for everything that you need to learn how to catch fish. You will also find the information that you need to advance, and also understand how several anglers can be fishing the same waters side by side, yet return with completely different catches. Sit back and relax with a cup of coffee and see what you can learn.
Through a wide variety of resources from expert advice to additional resource links, our comprehensive species, tackle, equipment and resort sections will provide you with an understanding of what is required to become a successful angler, and where you should travel for incredible fishing vacations. We try to provide you with the steps to becoming a successful angler, as well as the knowledge for experienced anglers to improve their skills and continue to catch fish consistently.
We have also compiled a complete reference of all the major freshwater sport fish species found in North America and have included advice and details on how to catch them. We have also included a beautifully illustrated species slide show of over 30 species to help you identify your catch. We believe that the more knowledge you have about the species you are fishing for, the greater likelihood that you will consistently hook them to your line.
Kurt Wintermeyer writes, "Not only should today's angler equip himself with the various "tools of the trade," but he should also equip himself with a better understanding of the fish that he is trying to catch. Having this knowledge in your tackle box will make you a more successful angler, whether you are wading a river for trout or drift trolling on open water..."
We strive to provide you with the most complete and comprehensive online fishing reference, making Fishresource.com an essential, useful and enjoyable site for those who love to fish. One of the main objectives of Fishresource.com is to promote the sport of fishing and we are doing this by providing a quality resort and guide listing for the United States and Canada. Visit our Resort Listings and see what awaits you. Make your next vacation a fishing vacation and see what these lodges have to offer!
