Fishing Report from Northern MI |
Greetings fellow anglers! This is my first time writing to you and I hope you find the following info helpful if you travel north to ice fish.
I've been fishing several area lakes to get a feel for what places are good and which ones are slooooow.
Lake Cadillac so far has been the best bet. Caught btw 20-30 perch with half being 6" or more next to the causeway, two weeks ago. Ice was about 3-4" then. I'm planning on going up there tomorrow so I will give an update on that when I get back.
Wixom Lake in Edenville has been very slow. Went twice in the last week and only caught a few bluegill although they were keepers. Everyone over there is reporting slow going.
Visited Crooked Lake in Lake this morning and it was slow there too. One 4" bluegill from 8-noon. Lots of lookers but no real biters.
Going over to Lake Shamrock this afternoon in Clare. My friend has been doing pretty good on tipups with a minnow, 30" pike a few days ago!
Good luck fishing and looking forward to talking with all of you!!
