Whats up !! I just took my first dose of Chantix today. I think I am feeling a little somthing from it, but it could just be some sort of placebo, who knows. I have a little dry mouth, and I feel great !! Well off to school to study sociology. Smoking is bad mmmmmmk.
I have started on varenicline (chantix) almost 3 weeks ago. I pretty much quit but oh my, the side effects have been awful! Has anybody noticed being very tired and generally lethargic? People around me tell me that I am not the same person eversince I started taking this drug. Doeschantix make you depressed? Is that one of the common side effects? Or is it just the fact that my body got used to nicotine so much, that it can not cope without it?
I enjoyed your article and have wanted to try Chantix myself. I'm very motiveated about everything I've read here. I wanted to ask you, the author of "Why I Want to Quit Smoking," how you were able to fight your insurance company and get them to pay for it. There are many people who ask if chantix really works on the Internet and according to phizer studies only one in five remain smoke free after a year. That's a pretty poor ratio, 80% of people start smoking again. Only 40% of people on chantix even manage to quit. The relapse rate is just too high. And I don't want to spend all this money if I am going to relapse. But then again, nicotine gum provided a 3 times less chance of staying smoke free according to studies...
